Mr. Husain's coverage focuses on medical technology including capital equipment, medical supplies, diagnostics, and life science tools. Mr. Husain has been following the health care sector for 15 years as an analyst, consultant, business development professional, and academic. Before joining Dougherty & Company, Mr. Husain was a medical technology analyst with Ticonderoga Securities (formerly Soleil Securities) and Leerink Swann & Co. Prior to that, he was a management consultant at Constella Health Strategies and Decision Resources, providing advisory services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has worked for start-up companies in the genomics, biochemical manufacturing, and medical device industries. Mr. Husain has been recognized by Financial Times and StarMine as the #2 (2010) and #3 (2011) earnings estimator in the health care equipment and supplies industry. While at Leerink Swann & Co., he was on the analyst team awarded Institutional Investor's "Best of Boutiques" in medical technology. Mr. Husain received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Saskatchewan, a Masters of Science from McGill University, and an Masters in Business Administration from Queen's University. In 2010, he received his third Master's degree—a Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard University—where he was Commencement Speaker for his graduating class.
